ZIP-GUN TEENAGE PUNK THUNDER – Eddie and the Hot Rods

To be published at the end of November, my story of Eddie and the Hot Rods is given the big sell on the cover of Ugly Things. It runs for over 16 pages, featuring many rarely seen images from Howard Thompson’s archive and is topped with an interview with the man himself.

The image at the top of this post is from my collection and was the Hot Rods promo poster Island produced for them. The only other copy I’ve seen was on the wall in Rock On shop in 1976. It was quickly superseded by the boy with the pistol image designed by Michael Beal.

The image on the first page of my article is from Howard Thompson’s trove and is an unused publicity shot from their first photo session . . . flares ago-go (except for Paul)

My thanks to Mike Stax for giving the band’s story a home . . .
